It's kind of good to not think about the info streams as if they were linear, let alone might constitute any kind of linear narrative. Maybe this is one of the reasons why lifestreaming is popular - the illusion that if you could somehow keep track of everything, there'd be a coherent story at the end of the rss rainbow.
I like that, the easing-up on our addiction to linear narrative. It's all about the cloud now, it seems. I like the metaphor of the stream (a good buddhist staple); things flow, the water's never the same from one moment to the next, time flows, we flow, and so on. Maybe a metaphor for us dipping into Twitter and Jaiku like this, is us visiting everyone else's streams when they reach the ocean; we take a boat out now and then and dive in.
