Wondering how I can be more active over here. Jaiku, you'll always be my first microblogging love :)

If the people aren't here, the conversation won't happen. We have a hard core group of 10 from Ireland on Jaiku and many of them prefer the community and the threading. But the smaller numbers mean less buzz.

I'm happy to converse with you here Josie. As here I experience the kind of 'conversation symmetry' I find is missing in Twitter. My Jaiku stream I always follow, Twitter I merely step in and out of every now and then.

I think it would be easier to nurture edubloggers who are new to microbloggers by bringing them through Jaiku first. Twitter can be so confusing.

@tonzylstra Thanks Ton, really appreciate the kind offer. I guess the different volume of participation can make for quieter & more engaged conversation. I'm really torn because I'm so keen on Jaiku but so short of time, and also not heartened by Google's approach to the service since they took it over.

@topgold - i think your right. I'd use Jaiku in a training/intro situation. For one thing all of the features are already here, not spread out over a zillion third party sites :)

I think it's important to remember that Jaiku isn't closed. Anyone with a Jaiku account can invite others. I think it would be worthwhile to chat about items related to on-going projects or to get post-OEB08 thoughts from people. You could do that a lot of ways, but pretty elegantly at #oeb08.
